El Corona has always been a stronghold for illicit activity, even during the First World War the area was known for not only its roughness but had a reputation for its high poverty rate although residents knew nothing of what was becoming of the neighborhood before the early 1920s. Residents of El Corona became more and more engrossed in ways that friends would come together and defend the area from gangs that were popping up at the time, gangs that included Big Hazard and White Fence but despite these events, the famous Zoot Suit Riots of the 1940s are what shone light on the 38th Street Gang in a way that would change the course of the gangs actions and reputation within Los Santos forever. The Sleepy Lagoon Murder consisted of multiple teenage 38th Street gang members brutally murdering a young boy by the name of Jose Diaz at a water reservoir which was often visited by gang members. 600 Mexican teenagers all over Los Santos were hauled up by LSPD for the heinous crime although eventually 22 members of the 38th Street Gang including some female affiliates were tried and the event would lead to the single largest mass trial on record in San Andreas.
Police Officer II Otto Tirado in 2018 wrote:"Deeply entrenched roots within a confined neighborhood deemed too dangerous to be kept around."
Image
From 1999 up until around mid 2019, the 38th Street Gangs impact on the southern side of the city was devastating to not only the local residents but to law enforcement alike as new cliques flagging the neighborhood started popping up within the immediate area. The tiny locotes (TLS) were among the first clickas to originate out of the gang all the way back in the 1920s, now in current times there are over 12 different clickas across three different states all flagging for the same cause. In Los Santos, the 38th Street gang holds 6 sets; Tiny Locotes (TLS), Gardenas Locos (GLS), Krazy Katz (KZK), Tiny Winos (TWS), Pee Wee Gangsters (PWGS) & Tiny Diablas (TDS), each set with their own reputations and input on the lives they live. In 2019 a rival gang; Bounty Hunter Bloods (BHB) took their chances and sparked a war which would end up making national news with a body count of over 30 people over the course of a year, Oscar "Blueboy" Huerta along with other original new generation 38th Streeters at the time including Antonio "Shaggy" Merino, Andres "Casper" Artego, Joshua "Bugs" Pena, Owen "Stomper" Nereyo and the famous Dennis "Creeper" Grajeda engaged deep in the war between the two gangs, often plotting on ways to score points and cleanse the 38th Street flats of blacks. After a long and bloody war between two gangs that lasted almost two years, the 38th Streeters eventually managed to push back and take the flats with force which resulted in a mass shootout within the 38th Street car lot.
Deputy Sheriff Noah Kimura in 2019 wrote:"A disruptive menace to our community, it's long overdue that they be removed from the area they currently terrorize."
After taking back control of the flats, another spark ignited only this time it was directed from the Eastside Hustler Crips (EHC). During this time of conflict, the 38th Street Gang were also up against a gang injunction order which made them prone to constant stop and searches and the avoidance of their friends due to the court order; making attacks on rival gangs 10 times as hard. Over time the feud led to over 25 slayings across each side, it only came to a head when female affiliates of the Eastside Hustler Crips brutally gunned down a pregnant 38th Street member; what ensued next was nothing short of a bloodbath between either neighborhood. Almost a year into the beef between either set the Hustler Crips once based out of East Los were no more, after strains from law enforcement and being under constant attack from neighboring gangs including 38th Street the Hustler Crip affiliates went into hiding; leaving their territory open to whoever was willing to take it.
Image
Late 2019 proved to be a difficult time for the gang, with gang injunctions being forced on affiliates and residents alike the pressure was enormous between members. A senior police officer by the name of Pablo Rodriguez got too comfortable around the gang during this period, the events which transpired from his comfort are the events which led to his demise. Dennis "Creeper" Grajeda took his opportunity proving his loyalty to the gang, Grajeda approached Rodriguez and drew his firearm; sending shots towards his radio car. Dennis Grajeda died on the corner of 28th & Kings after being tricked by law enforcement, he was shot to death by units which were surrounding Pablo nearby. It wasn't long before 38th Street affiliates found out what happened and word was put out on the officers head, no matter what the cost. Pablo Rodriguez was gunned down in cold blood between the sex store on Imperial Avenue, four members of the 38th Street Gang including Estefan "Shank" Loza & Alonso "Sadboy" Caravallo rolled up on his radio car; upping the score for their fallen homeboy. Each member involved would go on to serve life sentences after being found guilty for the murder.

The generational changes that occured between 1923 and 1999 made for an immeasurable impact on the lifestyle for those around South Los, through the years passed the neighborhood has seen children grow from strong family ties to posting up with their homeboys toting nine millimeters and inhaling nitrous oxide from party balloons. During the 2000's the gang lived through and survived two gang injunctions, ordered on the gang after almost a century of violence. Ivan Lermas otherwise known as Shady (a long standing figure within the El Corona community and one of the last remaining 38th Street originals remaining) was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole in December 2020, leaving the gang in the hands of a new generation.
Detective Luis Ocasio in 2021 wrote:"A terrifying cancer to Los Santos. A force with no boundaries and it's our priority to limit the disruption they're causing to the community."

Since the capture and imprisonment of a high profile 38th Street affiliate, Ivan Lermas, it didn't take long for the 38th Street gang to get back on their feet as almost immediately, rising names from within the gangs structure came through the woodwork, taking their seat on the power throne to run things how they seen fit and keep the gang functioning and most importantly, operational on the streets of Southern Los Santos. During late 2020, various 38th Street affiliates of the Krazy Katz clique including, Horacio "Big" Castello, Oscar "Trooper" Miralles, Emilia "Tiny" Palacio & Felipe "Reckless" Ibarra decided to branch out and get the gang's hold dug in deeper with a legal venture, down the line opening up what would become El Corona's most successful nightclub, La Amenaza Furtiva. The club was set for maximum profit, meaning cheap dancers, pricey drinks & expensive upstairs or private function seating, all in aid to throw police attention away from the neighborhood so the gang could continue it's illicit activity under the radar, in fear of another gang injunction. Alongside the clear and present fright of another indictment on the gang, a raid was carried out along Unity Boulevard, another area within the gangs stronghold, the raid put a handful of the Pee Wee Gangsters clique (PWGS) behind bars, police presence around the southern most side of the city began spiralling out of control with members of the 38th Street gang being rendered unable to work on the streets due to the fact. At the beginning of 2021, the Second District supervisor Johnny Pineda cleared for two new recreational parks to be set up around the 38th Street & Newport areas of El Corona in a new approach in their attempts at redevelopment, although their attempts were well sought out and had actual meaning behind them, the gang only began to loiter more frequently, now seemingly have more places to turn into their own as already, damages and graffiti have been reported in either of the new parks within just 5 months. In a public press release, DEA Special Agent Jonathan Langford announced that the state of San Andreas is nowhere near done with the menace that currently controls El Corona and the surrounding areas, most notably quoted during the press release for saying, "the organization has been left unjust for too long, progress reports show absolute no data on the progression and recreation of our southern streets, namely El Corona and Unity Boulevard". Between members, it has been perceived that the court case of The State of San Andreas vs The 38th Street Gang is closer than they'd like to imagine, although still pressing on with gang activity, nonetheless.

TINY LOCOTES (Zoot Suit Era)
The Tiny Locotes (TLS), were among the first 38th Street cliques, if not thee first clique ever made within the gangs structure which dates back all the way to the 1920s, making the Southside Varrio 38th Street gang one of the oldest street gangs in not only Los Santos history, but in the history of the United States of America. The Tiny Locotes had risen and more or less stemmed from hatred and poverty, hatred from the American servicemen, which ranged from the Navy, Armed Forces and most white angelenos (L.S Natives), with most youth individuals of the Latin American, Filipino & Italian American descent being targeted, along with there being attacks directed towards blacks & other descendants of Asian origin. From this violence, a good portion of Hispanic teenagers along with a selection of young adults aligned forces to combat the racial violence which was directed from "law abiding servicemen", the 38th Street Gang, along with gangs like Big Hazard & White Fence had decided to take it upon themselves to inflict an ever greater threat of violence on the streets of Los Santos. After low profile gatherings which were conducted within areas of South and East Los Santos, among the ranks of each gang, who's focus at the time was to strike back and defend themselves against the posing servicemen, structure was organized and would eventually kickstart the violent Hispanic-American gang scene that we know and detest today. The first most influential story which gained the gang notoriety was the Sleepy Lagoon murder which in the end was found to have allegedly involved 22 of the 38th Street's TLS affiliates and was the result of the brutal murder of Jose Diaz, near a watering pool behind Slauson Avenue & in front of 26th Street, it was the single largest mass-trial in San Andreas history.

TINY LOCOTES (1994 - Present)
With the cliques most deadliest decade, spanning from 1994 until 2004, the TLS set had proven to be more than enough and far beyond the police departments comprehension as a series of gang injunctions were set in place, the first injunction lasting from July 1995 until January 1996 and the second injunction lasting from December 1999 until May 2000, most of the cliques members were forced into hiding over the millennium new years festivities, missing out on a once in a lifetime celebration due to police interference. During the early 2000s, TLS clique leader Ivan "Shady" Lermas, was released from High Desert State Prison and up until the late 2010's, actively led the clique through it's fair share of hard times. The Lermas name had shone throughout the majority of the gangs existence, with Ivan being the grandson of Cecilio "Hazard" Lermas, an original Tiny Locote dating back to the 1930s, Cecilio had played a major role in the plot and murder of Jose Diaz at the Sleepy Lagoon swimming hole. Ivan Lermas, along with figures such as Oscar "Blueboy" Huerta, Dennis "Creeper" Grajeda, Antonio "Shaggy" Merino, Owen "Stomper" Nereyo & Joshua "Bugs" Pena were the drive during the wars which had taken place for control on 38th Street, involving new prying gangs such as Bounty Hunter Bloods and Asian Boyz, over the span of seven years, the 38th Street gang had single-handedly pushed out both opposing sets and had once again made sure the State of San Andreas knew it's place on the 38th Street gangs marker.

PORTSIDE GEE'D UP GANGSTERS ERA (2000-2003)
With the massive influx of new residents coming to the south side, the gang's grasp extended around the back, onto Newport Boulevard, where youth activity was at its best. This meant that the gang could grow in numbers, recruiting youths and gaining even more control over the neighborhood, making it more of a task for law enforcement. With the aspiring youths being influenced and recruited into the gang, a new clique was formed, G'd Up Gangsters. With reckless and hot-headed youths residing down Newport, the clique never had a leader, nor a well-defined hierarchy. Newport was not only a piece of territory to extend to, but it was a tactical section, the large yards within the residences of Newport make for excellent cover and gives the possibility to perform easy drug deals. Newport is a small chunk of territory, nonetheless, that's where 38ST members were seen in large numbers, this was a technique to scare off rival gang members, at cost of fleeing routes. This is why Newport was named "G'd up Fortress" by rival gang members, as they would have to face large numbers of 38ST affiliates in a well-defended area. With the clique not having a leader and being victim of severe disorganization, it wouldn't take much for G'd Up Gangsters to be labeled as defunct by LSPD public press on May 15th, 2003 after a drug bust cracked open the G'd Up lair and detain the 23 young affiliates of all ages, ranging from 12 to 18 years old. Historically the Portside clique would eventually become Gardenas Locos after a change was set in place by El Corona district council and the Newport park became Gardena Park.

SCHOOL YARD LOCOS
School Yard Locos (SYL) is a S/S 38 VARRIO clique that operated all the way down Kings Avenue and the yard of Olmos High School, primarily affecting teens from Kings Avenue. School Yard Locos is the fourth of three 38 cliques to operate in the city. Ricardo Cadena, Emilio Delgadillo, and Aaron Tejedor, also known as Skinny, Emi, and Midnight, founded the clique. Ricardo Cadena was the figurehead of the School Yard Locos clique. With the older members' control over the youth in the area, it's easy to assume that many of them simply do what the older people in the area tell them. However, like many of El Corona's poor residents, some are only looking for a better way of life, respect, and a way to help their families, while others are likely only looking for a better way of life, respect, and a way to help their families. The School Yard Locos clique began as a small group of four people selling drugs for Shady Lermas. They worked their way up the ranks and, after a few years, they were on the front lines, involved in everything from drug trafficking to weapon trafficking to murder and attempted murder. Years passed, and Emilio Delgadillo, also known as Emi, was sentenced to three years in prison. Ricardo Cadena and Aaron Tejedor used to run the clique with everything they could. They got themselves involved in a lot of things, such as moving large amounts of drugs and killing enemies. They're both gaining respect, and it's because of this that they're both gaining a reputation in the gang and on the streets. Things went horribly wrong for the clique while Ricardo Cadena was chosen as a locote and Aaron Tejedor was chosen as a locote. Emilio Delgadillo was released from prison, and he had an interaction with Ivan Lermas, also known as Shady, which resulted in his death, and then everything went wrong with everyone from SYL. Ricardo Cadena and Aaron Tejedor were both being pursued by other 38th affiliates, but Ricardo Cadena died due to health issues, and Aaron Tejedor has no choice but to face Ivan Lermas. Aaron Tejedor and Ivan Lermas met in 28th Street, along with other 38th Street affiliates Desideria 'OG SHADY EYES' Artego, Carlos 'SHADOW' Santos, and Matias Gaos (SYL AFFILIATE). Aaron Tejedor was shot and killed on the spot after the two argued.

GARDENAS LOCOS (2003 - 2010)
Gardenas Locos (GLS) is a dangerous yet loosely organized group of gangbangers residing in the Newport Boulevard area of El Corona, the Gardenas Locos are what is left of the defunct cliques, Gardenview Rifa and G'd Up Gangsters, that were influencing Newport into drug deals and converting aspiring youth gang members into front-line soldiers for the gang. After the famous drug bust that led to the arrest of 23 young affiliates and G'd Up Gangsters' lair being breached, Gardenas Locos were originally formed as a defense strategy to protect the surrounding borders. It was a true "gang operation" to save Newport Boulevard from being taken over by rival gang members. With the operation being led by Gardenview Rifa OG Joey "Chato" Otero, that managed to survive his twenties and rank up in the gang, activity was slowly picking up again in the cracked G'd Up lair, introducing Nathan "Tripz" Farias, Austin "Chaser" Lazcano, and Charles 'Player' Braojos into the clique. Gardenas Locos could be considered an organized street gang if it wasn't for their dedication and passion for the gang. It wouldn't take much for Gardenas Locos to switch over to the offensive and inflict damage to rival gangs, the crime rate in El Corona had risen 49% in just two years after the clique's creation.

GARDENAS LOCOS (2010 - Present)
Nathan "Tripz" Farias and Austin "Chaser" Lazcano played a huge role in the altercation and quadruple homicide of high-ranking 38ST affiliates Andres Artego (26), Isaac Trejo (26), the young Damian Iraheta (14), and Joey Otero (35), that served and brought Newport Boulevard back to its fullest potential with his successful gang operation. Word spreads on the streets that Farias and Lazcano came to an agreement with high-ranking 38ST member Ivan "Shady" Lermas, which spared the two and gave them the possibility to lead the clique. With Gardenas Locos being under custody of the two hot-headed affiliates, the clique's hierarchy crumbled apart, resembling the old G'd Up Gangsters days. Fast-forwarding to 2012, Austin "Chaser" Lazcano's gang banging career will come to an end on 28th Street where he will be found dead. In 2014 instead, Nathan "Tripz" Farias will be taken out by apparent KZK members, sent by high-ranking 38ST member Carlos "Shadow" Santos to kill the last standing Gardenas Locos' head figure; the reasons behind the murder are still unknown at this time. With both clique's head figures taken down, Gardenas Locos will be going through very low activity and contribution to the gang. A new influx of residents will be striking through Newport Boulevard that will arise its activity and the clique would slowly get back on its feet. To this day the Gardenas locos are known for their violent ways and passion for gang activity.

KRAZY KATZ (2005 - 2010)
The Krazy Katz (KZK) is a lucrative clique that falls under the 38ST umbrella that is based out of Imperial Avenue with their hold stretching as far across the street it borders with Unity Boulevard. The Krazy Katz had very small activity and its official reported member count was 12 members at the end of 2009. They were hot-headed young front-line soldiers, taking direct orders by older affiliates and being in strict contact with their neighborhood, Tiny Locotes (TLS). The Krazy Katz had their maximum contribution peak to the gang in 2010, where they played a major role in the "Half Tracks Murder" that consisted of multiple Krazy Katz affiliates (the number of participants is still unknown at this time) murdered a young boy named Gaspar Trujillo that was affiliated with the clique itself. Rumors spread that high-ranking members of the 38ST gang placed a hit on the affiliate due to a drug dispute. The murder took place at the garbage deposit by the 'tracks', that's where the name derivers. Information released by the LSPD public press stated that the three Krazy Katz affiliates, Jose "Smokey" Castello, Mateo "Blast" Rodriguez, and Thomas "Tank" Estrada were removed from the streets and charged with the murder. The reasoning behind the murder is still unknown at this time. At the time of the incident, the remaining clique affiliates disappeared, rumors are spread in El Corona that the entire Krazy Katz clique was involved in the murder and that they fled for their freedom. LSPD in 2010, at the end of June, published that the official reported member count of the clique Krazy Katz was 0, archiving the case file and the clique was labeled as defunct.

KRAZY KATZ (2012 - Present)
After two years of inactivity, vandalism came to its peak again in 2012 on Imperial Avenue, where the walls were blasted again in KZK graffitis. A new set of young members were present on the street: Ian "Nightmare" Tovar, Ethan "Thief" Cendejas, Felipe "Reckless" Ibarra, Benjamin "Violent" Bentero, Leonel "Ghost" Ibarra, Oscar "Scandalous" Ruoco, and Horacio "Big" Castello, brother of Jose "Smokey" Castello that was involved in the Half Tracks Murder. The rising activity was reported on Imperial Avenue by 38ST affiliates. It didn't take much for those young residents of the Imperial complex to prove themselves to the gang, but not all were seen in a good light by the gang affiliates. An internal altercation took place between Krazy Katz and 38ST affiliates where Oscar "Scandalous" Ruoco and Ian "Nightmare" Tovar lost their lives. The Krazy Katz couldn't elaborate a response due to the brutal war with 99 MAFIA GANTON CRIPS taking place. Imperial Avenue's residents had to get to arms and they were deployed as front-line soldiers by 38ST affiliates to face the threat. This led to the arrest of Emiliano "Milly" Munoz, a new generation Krazy Katz affiliated that was processed with Murder after a successful hit on the opposition.
Krazy Katz was also deployed when the war with Eastside Hustler Crip (EHC) took place. This led to the event of an affiliate tossing an M2 grenade in the opposition's club, providing huge economical and reputation damage. As time goes by, Krazy Katz can be considered a small coalition of dedicated soldiers for the gang, but not always things go right. The clique was deployed to murder a Gardenas Locotes (GLS)'s head figure by a high-ranking member of the 38ST gang. This led to the death of three GLS affiliates, including their head figure, Nathan "Tripz" Farias, and Krazy Katz affiliate Martin "Menace" Barajas. Still to this day, the nickname Menace is occupying multiple walls on Imperial Avenue. Krazy Katz is still considered as one of the most brutal cliques that fall under the 38ST umbrella.
Big thanks to @rubynettoh & @kookinkokaine for their inputs in the quotes above.
