ATF & DEA's introduction and background to the 'Krasnaya Mafiya' to present day including an insight into documented illegal activities and events through time

DO NOT DISTRIBUTE OR MODIFY IN ANY WAY

The Russian mafia can be traced back to Russia's imperial period, which began in the 1720s, in the form of banditry and thievery. Most of the population were peasants, in poverty at the time, and criminals who stole from government entities and divided profits among the people earned Robin Hood-like status, being viewed as protectors of the poor and becoming folk heroes. In time, the Vorovskoy Mir (Thieves' World) emerged as these criminals grouped and started their own code of conduct that was based on strict loyalty with one another and opposition against the government. When the Bolshevik Revolution came around in 1917, the Thieves' World was alive and active. Vladimir Lenin attempted to wipe them out, but failed, and the criminals survived into Joseph Stalin's reign.

In 2017 the Russian Mafia were officially back in action under new leadership and more organised than ever. The vory spokesman, Image & Image claimed power over the smaller, less organised organised crime group, Tsaryovskaya OPG. The result of this caused multiple prominent figures around Little Moscow to be knocked off as 'Crime lords' of East Beach and made way for a new kind of organised crime that caused the once peaceful part of the city to be one of the most dangerous. After the take over, the new and reformed Russian crime group was ran by Image Egorov (Egorovskaya OPG). EOPG gained a name for itself after a known hitman, Matvei Kiselyov, for the crime group was arrested on kidnapping, racketeering and gun charges, leaving two innocent people shot. The group was hit hard and put under immediate investigation.

Following on from the investigation on the group, in 2018 the leader, Image Egorov, three other gang members were arrested after an undercover sting recovered eight AK47, three silenced makarovs, and a variety of other weapons dating back to the cold war era, roughly $58,000 in cocaine and ecstasy and $100,000 in banded stacks of cash. The group was at a all time low for public appearances and with the incarceration of known members, and a huge blow to the crime group funds, EOPG dropped off from public eye and the last remaining members went into hiding to avoid being charged with crimes in the US. Matvei Kiselyov was later found dead after a suspected murder in which authorities believed was a blow back from the botched deal which led to two high ranking Image gang members being imprisoned.

ATF & DEA's confirmed organisations illegal activities

Through months of investigation and collecting sources from both witnesses and confidential informants, a list of confirmed gang activities has been formatted. Whatever the EOPG do, there's most likely money behind it.

Above is an image of a EOPG member taking two stolen cars into a warehouse where they would then fraudulently be able to sell it off

The group currently has two main confirmed sources of income. importing and exporting related business. It's a known fact EOPG take advantage of the city when it comes to business and so most things are kept out of their home town.

Although the group seems to focus on two areas of income, they also have smaller methods of income such as credit card fraud, trading stolen cars and parts and firearm dealing.

After months in exile and keeping off the radar, members of EOPG have emerged once again but now with a new leader spear heading the movement of organised crime in Los Santos.

OOC faction information

We aim to provide a realistic and fun Russian crime group and offer something new and refreshing to the server. Rule breaking both on the forums and in-game will result in faction-related punishment and if severe enough, even removal.

Screenshot permission is required, it's highly recommended you keep your screens neat and clean.

Upon becoming a member in the faction you must grant CK permission to the current leader(s). This can be done over the forums by private messaging the current IG leader(s) - "I, name here, agree for the current leader(s) of Krasnaya Mafiya to CK my character".

Vor V Zakone ("Thieves in-law")

Despite the fact that Armenia, Chechnya, Estonia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan have long had crooks and thieves, amid the confusion of the Russian Revolution of 1917, outfitted posses multiplied until the point when they turned into an extremely huge factor which controlled society. The criminal culture with its own slang, culture and laws wound up plainly known as Vorovskoy Mir or "Criminal/Thieves World".
Image
The "Thieves in-law" shaped as a society for ruling the criminal underworld within the prison camps, "who administer the dim crevices in Soviet life past the span of the KGB". They embraced an arrangement of aggregate duty, and pledged to a code of "complete submission to the laws of criminal life, including commitments to support criminal ideal, dismissal of a legitimate lifestyle (must help oneself through criminal endeavors) and refusal to take an interest in all political exercises.

Vor consider penitentiaries their actual home and have an expression, "The home for angels is heaven, and the home for a Vor is prison." As per Aleksandr Gurov, a specialist on the Vor who headed organized crime units of theSoviet Interior Ministry and the GRU, "unlike the Cosa Nostra the Vory have 'less rules, but more severe rules' " and the individuals must have no binds to the administration, which means they can't serve in the armed forces or collaborate with authorities while in jail. They should likewise have served a few prison sentences before they can be considered. They additionally are not permitted to get married."

Furthermore, according to Michael Schwirtz Levkiv "ethnicity has infrequently decided if somebody can join the club, and today numerous individuals, even those active inside Russia, are from other post-Soviet nations, for example, Armenia, Georgia, or Chechnya, are not ethnic Russians." While there still are a great deal of ethnic Russian vor, many likewise are drawn from other ethnic gatherings from the previous Soviet Union.

Image
After the fall of the Soviet Union in the 1990s, the vory accepted a main role inside the Russian criminal chain of command (The Russian Mafia). The gathering could "penetrate the best political and financial strata while command of the burgeoning crime network that spread murderously through the post-Soviet countries."

Thieves in-law are given the title by other vor and keeping in mind the end goal to be acknowledged they should show significant administration aptitudes, personal ability, intellect, charisma, along with a well-documented criminal record. Once acknowledged they should live as per the thieves' code. The punishment for infringement of this code is frequently mutilation or death. Purportedly, "today the Vory have spread far and wide, to Madrid, Berlin, and New York" and are "included in everything from low scale burglary to billion-dollar tax evasion schemes while acting as mediators among clashing Russian criminal factions due to their prison ties."

Purportedly, as free enterprise started to grab hold in Russia, an expanding number of white collar criminals started to assume control of more lucrative ventures. While these new criminal components initially worked with the Vory in the 1990s, in the 2000s(the dawn of the corporate era), ties to Corporate America and Government developed greatly in importance. Thus, while the "Vory are as yet solid in betting and retail exchange," their significance in the Russian economy and society has decreased. In any case, since the dominant part of offenders in the end are captured and detained, sooner or later they will interact with the Vory who are at the highest point of the chain of command of the criminal world inside the reformatory framework in Russia.
