We've made some effort to change the way responsibility is delegated within the community. Our main effort is to not rely on high ranking admins for Team members to be able to do their work properly. There's several ways to accomplish this - custom permissions being one of them. As an example - if you're supposed to be able to hand off companies in-game, you shouldn't require a Lead admin to do it for you, but have the permission inherited from a "Company Team" group. We're also making effort to not have one person responsible for a range of leadership roles, but rather restrict the person's focus on leading one team properly. I believe this will not only yield more productive results, but will prevent us from a larger chunk of the community's flow relying on a single person.
One of our critical outstanding tasks was to put together a new FMC (now called Faction Team Leadership). We've polled all of our current Faction Team members about their opinion of the current state of FM, their priorities and their recommendations for new appointments. Based on their feedback and our discretion, we have chosen three candidates who will work together to help factions thrive on LS-RP.
I'd like to congratulate the following new appointments:
- Dropper for Outreach Team Leader
- Bellagio, Jayy and Anthony_Navarra for Faction Team Council
- Tester Team - Led by DadoJ
- Admin Team - Led by Ben
- Development Team - Led by Mmartin
- Modding Team - Team Leader to be picked soon.
- Mapping Team - Led by Coconuty
- Event Team - Team leader to be picked soon.
- Property Team - Led by FiendFyre
- Outreach Team - Led by Dropper
- Company Team - Led by Toretto
- Faction Team - Led by Bellagio, Jay and Anthony_Navarra
- Support Team - Led by colorlessrainbow
We're going to be opening some of these teams to players outside of staff in some limited capacities, although we'd prefer to have the teams consist of mostly staff members, with some exception (Event Team for example). I'd like to use this announcement to also remind you that our Development Team applications are open and we'll be reviewing the applicants shortly, so send your application in if you haven't already.
Another focus of ours is to avoid stagnation in the teams once they're set up. This is why we're looking into periodical audits or check-ins with not only the team leaders, but their members as well. We've already begun with this and polled some of our teams, including the entire Staff Team & Faction Team about their feedback in regards to how the team is ran, if there's any major issues preventing them to get work done and more. We've received dozens of replies so far and will review them once we've gathered enough.
I'll end this post by saying I'm happy to see how the last two weeks went down. I feel confident in our current staff team and we're currently hitting 200+ players every day (with a peak of almost 280!), despite many players still being unable to connect. We're continuously working with our host to improve our solution to put a final end to this attack, but I wanted to take a few words to acknowledge the progress that's been done in the last weeks. Good job everyone!
