Corona Varrio Locotes 13, previously known as Tortilla Flats Locos 13 and Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13, which are also known as Southside Locotes 13's younger generation, is one of the oldest street gangs on Los Santos Roleplay. The faction was originally founded by Joey Cortez on 11th August 2007 and have been kept up and running ever since with different leaderships. The original founder and leader of the then called 'Los Locotes' had to go inactive in December 2008 due to internet problems and the leadership was passed over to Cailiz and duzion. During years of development, the faction divided into two different sub-sets, one was kept in the surrounding areas of El Corona and the other one was assigned to Las Colinas, which was later named 'The Hillside Locotes 828', led by Roque Cadero.

Image
The sub-set was later on taken down due conflicts between the high ranked members. The faction continued as one afterwards in El Corona and was led notoriously by Cailiz and duzion. Southside Locotes 13 managed to achieve an outstanding reputation and was respected among other factions. As the time passed on and the faction sustained a decent activity, there were some complications with the law enforcement authorities. They had gathered enough information and evidence against Southside Locotes 13 gang in general and it's members. In short time later, casefile regarding the faction and it's members was published and the gang was temporarily shut down as most of the members either got caught and imprisoned. After a while, the previous members who remained untouched and new affiliates decided to start up a new gang in the same area, named Dog Patch Criminals X3, led by Clown. The new era was highly successful and attracted a lot of new interested people around, but after a while the faction was once again taken over by Cailiz and renamed to Varrio El Corona.

Now after a year later, the faction whom Cailiz created: Varrio El Corona X3 was taken down for the first time due to a casefile operation. After it was shut down, Birdman! along with a group of the past members opened a small sub-set called Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13 and eventually named Tortilla Flats Locos 13, which is based on the younger generation of Locotes whom are resident of El Corona. Whilst the 'big homies' were in prison, a group of young teenagers/kid are holding down the streets of El Corona - representing the Locotes as they do. So for when the moment comes the streets will be handed over to the Locotes who are were currently incarcerated.

The faction has been running ever since then and still continues to strive towards it's old glory.

Members and affiliates of Tortilla Flats Locos 13, previously known as Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13, or also known as the younger generation of Locotes, roam the streets nowadays, representing EC with pride. Their cause is to hold down the El Corona area whilst their past superiors are locked up in jails and prisons for several charges acquired during the casefile. Often seen in poor clothes, they hold down EC with a perhaps forced toughness, trying to look tough on anyone who passes. Due to the past two casefiles that's still actively rumored about, most of the members avoid law enforcement agencies at all costs, showing distinct fear. Although they show fear, this does not mean members are getting along with LE agencies. Due to those two past casefiles, there's a certain hatred developed against these agencies. Grafitti containing slogans like 'Fuck the cops' and 'Fuck la jura' is commonly spotted in recent grafitties.

Tortilla Flats Locos 13, previously known as Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13's leaders were close friends to currently incarcerated Locotes. These individuals are somewhat experienced in the gang life, showing obvious pride to their roots and the image of Southside Locotes 13. The initial idea behind Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13 is to continue the grip on EC with a newer, perhaps even more capable generation. The capability of the members has to be proven, due to their young age their knowledge about the ganglife is severely limited compared to the much older generation of Southside Locotes 13. The leaders of Tortilla Flats Locos 13 experienced the almost impossible casefile being executed on Southside Locotes 13. It only took days before they realized something had to be done, somebody had to keep down EC whilst the older generation was locked up. Members were randomly picked from left and right, only to gain numbers quickly to maintain the same grasp Locotes had.

Respect is used rather than ranks to indicate a person's ego. The more crimes a member commits, the more respect he gains from his fellow homeboys. Leaders of the set are members who earnt their respect as time passed. These leaders were close to the original members of Varrio El Corona and were candidates to be initiated.

As the time passed, the young reckless Tortilla Flats member were still roaming on the streets of El Corona, making their name noticeable. During those time, there was no trace of the old known Locotes around, just one; Ocho. Also known as the Southside Locotes 13 shot caller. During the gang take down by the Police Department, many Locotes were incarcerated, murdered or left the city to somewhere else unknown. It's said that only 2 - 4 Locotes are still roaming within the city of Los Santos, yet it's not confirmed. But as the Locos have been kept away, the younger generation also known as Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13 has been set up in order to held down to what was known as the Locotes turf.

Image

During the past few months, it's said that the known small clique has gotten affiliated to what is known as eMe, a prison gang. Ever since, there has been a sign of an old Locote visiting El Corona on a daily basis, supplying the clique members. As the affiliation is being set, the criminal activity rate within the 516 code area has increased during the past few weeks. It's said that clique has been pushing off its boundaries in order to expand their territory, yet it's unknown. However their aspect as a group of youngens together has changed drastically as the rates of murders increase by day. The constant gang beef between the rival gangs has been pushed off the limit, causing chaos on El Corona and elsewhere.

Image

As the time went on, more and more reports are being filled in against the notorious clique Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13. The rate of criminal activity hasn't reduced, but instead increased. It's been happening ever since the new signs of Southside Locotes 13 have been showing off in El Corona recently. Rumors are being spread around that to what was known as a clique; Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats has progressed into a notorious gang, nowadays calling themselves the fourth generation of Southside Locotes 13 - the younger and most dangerous one. It's said that Eduardo Ochoa, or known as "Ocho" (Southside Locotes previous Shot Caller) has laid down CVTF the name of Locotes upon them. Building a whole new era for Locotes, called; Tortilla Flats Locos 13.

  • RECRUITMENT
All recruitment for Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13 is done in-character. You should not expect to get jumped in after a couple of days as it will take time before you get trusted enough in-character to be one of the members in the clique.
The best way is to try to get some contact with the lower ranks who will introduce you later on to the higher ranks which is something a lot of members makes wrong and tries to get respect for the high ranks right away which often doesn't end up too well.

As an outsider, you will probably be told very often to move away from us and what not, but don't give up cause you don't get respected right away. It will take some time before you get known around us, of course depending on your in-character actions. So its really important that you have patience when you're trying to join.

  • RULES
      1. Always make sure that you follow the server rules and the gang rules at all times. Failure to follow these rules will either result in a punishment or a uninvite from the faction.

      2. You must have good knowledge about Sureño gangs in America and be able to roleplay a gang member properly and it's really important that you roleplay a human being with emotions.

      3. We strongly suggest you to roleplay a resident of El Corona in between his 13 - 17 years of age.

      4. You may have an alternative account, but you will be kicked from Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats 13 if you play an alt while any other Locotes are online, I ask full dedication to us or none at all. This applies to official members in the faction only.

      5. If you got any questions or complaints about the faction or it's members, don't hesitate to send a forum PM to Birdman!, Mario. or Marshall.

      6. Trying to join the faction also gives us the right to character-kill you if its needed.

      7. Always respect the members within the faction OOC'ly, being disrespectful, racist or discriminate will result in a uninvite from the faction.

      8. Try to remain in-character as much as possible. Keep the OOC during roleplay to the minimum.

      9. Don't mess around OOCly, even if there isn't really anyone around.

      10. Visiting the private forums in a daily basis is a MUST.

      11. We highly suggest all new members to join us on IRC (#varrio).

Corona Varrio Locotes 13
Modpack V3

After weeks of hard work I'm finally able to post the modpack as released and done. The following modpack adds several things besides just the skins. It adds the skins, graffiti, clothing items and spray tags. What these are and what they all do is described below. There shouldn't be any (big) bugs. If you encounter any, please send me a forum PM so I can fix it!

Skins:
Image
There are 7 skins in total. They replace the six SFR and VLA skins, along with HFYST. The skin setup in the screen follows the same order as I described, so it starts with SFR1, ends the male skins at VLA3 and after that the female skin on HFYST.

Graffiti:

Open up the spoiler for more pictures of the graffiti!

Credits to Ryder for making such an amazing project! He did a wonderful job at the graffiti, and I'm happy I can introduce this to you guys!

Clothing items:
Image
These items replace the following clothing items with more HQ textures or items that fit CVL's RP better than the original ones do. They replace the Black Hat, Dark Blue Hat, Green Hat, Skull Bandana, Black Bandana, Green Bandana, Red Bandana, Funky Bandana, Triangle Bandana, Dark Blue Bandana, Black&White Bandana, Dots Bandana, Triangle&Dots Bandana.
Note that not all items are true to their original counterpart in appearance, which means the Funky Bandana isn't as Funky anymore. The clothing items are done with realism in mind.

Spraytags:
Image
These replace the default tags(Ballas, Grove, Vagos etc) to CVL related tags. You can use these In-Game with /graffiti and entering the first menu.

GANG VIOLENCE LEADS TO 2 MURDERS: show

Gang Violence Leads to 2 Murders

Early last night gunshots were heard throughout the El Corona neighborhood. LSPD arrived almost immediately after they were called. The hunt for a possible shooter began, but the police stumbled on a sudden surprise.

It took authorities five minutes before discovering the body of Juan Acosta, a man who spent a majority of his life doing blue-collar jobs to support his family. The middle aged man subdued several gunshots to the chest before dying of blood loss. This is only one death that's been triggered by the believed gang-war raging through South Los Santos.

Image

The suspected murderer is supposedly from these Crystal Garden project buildings in the heart of Idlewood. It's widely known that this area has been controlled by a wild blood set for the past few years.

The two neighborhoods have been going at it this past month, causing havoc throughout the city streets with constant fights and shootings. There's no known root to the debate between these two ruthless gangs, but in their eyes it's good enough for murder.

Only hours after Juan Acosta's body was found, another person was murdered. This time from Crystal Gardens, the young African-American female was killed after visiting a vending machine near El Corona.

Members of the gang inhabiting E.C. spotted her while cruising through city streets. All four Hispanic males hopped out of the vehicle only to begin stabbing the Crystal Garden affiliated female. She was left with over thirty lacerations from four different knives.

If you have any information regarding these two murders, we ask that you call the LSPD right away.

El Corona Crime on the Rise

Over a month ago, fifteen gang related arrests were made in El Corona. Authorities believed that these arrests had successfully suppressed the growing crime-rate in the area. Well, it did, but the peace didn't last long as a new gang has erupted from the streets.

Crime rates in the area are on the rise again as a new group of dominant teenagers claim these streets as their own. This group, often underestimated because of their age, has began proving themselves through acts of brutal violence.

Whether it's believed or not, these adolescents are just as ruthless as the late Southside Locotes that were recently injuncted by local detectives. Unlike their SSL predecessors, CVTF 13 or Corona Varrio Tortilla Flats, are extremely unorganized and hold no true structure.

Grafitti taggings gain us a little insight to their world. Here are prime examples of grafitti in the area:

Image

Other than that, we've had no true encounter with the developing street gang. But, several videos on YouTube display how active these young gang members are. Below is a video of believed-to-be members of this growing set torching a car directly outside the G-Armstrong Housing Projects.
