•Slump City•
West Palm Beach, FL, specifically the downtown area.
"I’m from the city, where all the killings go down / Slump City, downtown, home of a hundred rounds.”
- Urban Dictionary.
West Palm Beach, Florida.
Slump City refers to a predominantly Haitian street gang who live and operate within the downtown area of West Palm Beach, Florida. The street gang are known for their appetite for murder and in Florida are within the ‘red zone’ of the Palm Beach County Sherriff department, a zone specifically for gangs of a ruthless, unstoppable and aggressive manner.
"People were very frightened in the cities where the shootings occurred. If they knew something, they weren't going to say anything,"
- Lois Frankel, who served as West Palm Beach's mayor from 2003 to 2011.
Top 6, also known as "Dem Damn Dogs" or "Slump City" is a gang located in Palm Beach County. Top 6 is not a single gang, but is however a combination of various different sub-sets working in different locations and claiming the ‘Top 6’ name. Top 6 has a set-up of an estimated 7 gangs working as individual parts of the ‘Top 6’ jigsaw, each individual set inside of Top 6 work on different aspects of criminal activities, however ultimately for the same things, money, power, guns and drugs. They don’t care how they earn it, either.
Top 6 became the most violent gang in Palm Beach County history, linked to 14 homicides and more than 150 shootings in the past few years, including a fatal Christmas Eve shooting at a busy mall in 2006 – all part of a bloody gang war, authorities said. Alleged leader Futo Charles, 30, has been arrested more than a dozen times since 2003, but his trial this week on various charges could send the steely-gazed Charles to prison for much of his life if convicted.
"He's an articulate, intelligent guy who's even charismatic to a point but he's not a nice guy. He's been involved and has orchestrated some bad things,"
"Whenever we had a big incident, Futo was always around."
- Lt. Michael Wallace, who ran the Palm Beach County gang task until recently.
Charles never hid his affiliation with Top 6, telling an officer in a 2006 traffic stop when he was caught with a concealed weapon that he belonged to the group. But Charles says Top 6 is a rap group. Authorities say Top 6 did start as a rap group, formed by six bullied Haitian teens who bonded as outcasts and classmates learning to speak English at Lake Worth High School in the mid-1990s. Picked on by blacks and whites, they eventually started to Americanize themselves, getting more in-touch with a ‘gangster’ lifestyle.
“In their world, an eye for an eye was the main rule.”

Ganton, Los Santos.
Top 6 eventually decided to branch out and in 2007 decided to act on the fall of a notorious Hispanic street gang and move a sub-set out into Los Santos to take control of the what-used-to-be Hispanic territory.
Marvin Gatlin, a known associate of Top-6 and relative of highly respected self-made Top-6 Original Gangster - Pierre Gilles, was a resident living inside of Los Santos prior to the Hispanics falling. He’d operated with a set group of individuals who were already claiming Piru way before even the thought of Slump City came about. When the Colonial Watts gang fell Gatlin decided to pounce up on the opportunity & moved himself and his small organization into the area of Grove Street, Ganton, Los Santos.
“Pierre was never in the lime-light, he was always one of the backseat characters, the one’s that lurk in the shadows of Palm Beach. He worked alongside Futo Charles and often came up with ideas for the gangs approach to certain tasks. Pierre is still out there to this day, however is now believed to have taken a more dominant role within the gang.”
- Connor Glendale, Palm Beach County gang task unit.
Gatlin was already adapting to life in the Grove Street circle, when the various Crip sets around the area turned to him as some kind of intruder, and enemy of the area. This is what made Gatlin begin to take affiliation and claim Piru, immediately taking a dominant role. However, due to being highly outnumbered and outgunned, it was extremely dangerous with the neighboring Crip sets in the area always lurking, which causes Gatlin to make a call.
It was on the night of November 12th when Gatlin called home, Palm Beach. His call was directed for his cousin, Pierre Gilles. Pierre had the situation explained to him by Gatlin on the phone and as a close relative, Pierre simply couldn’t stand by and watch his cousin be attacked on a regular basis.
Pierre gathered a handful of men who were rumored to be extremely violent and dangerous residents within West Palm Beach, making out for Ganton to assist his cousin in war. They arrived just a week later, and within a matter of days upon arrival, word of their extremely violent reputation spread. It was only a matter of time before white and Hispanic teens were also claiming to be Top 6 and "Top 6" became the routine moniker shouted out before drive-by shootings. During the time in Ganton authorities estimate the group grew to 400 to 450 members and affiliates, offering protection in the neighbourhoods where they sold drugs, mostly pot and crack cocaine, and orchestrated robberies to support the gang. AK-47 assault rifles were their weapon of choice.
“Soon as Gat’s cousin' touched down, shieet. Shit went wild as a mother-fucker from there on, these niggas didn’t look like they were here to fuck around. Them Haitians crazy, 'em Haitian boys don't play, mayne.”
- CENSORED.
It wasn’t long before the newly formed Piru gang encountered enemies, the first known enemy being Grape Street Crips. Grape street was an area located around 5 minutes away from Slump City.
Slump City was at war, a war that lasted on for several months. During this time, they’d not only been battling against Grape Street Crips, but also Acacia Garden Crips. The two sets were presumed to be allied with one another, however this wasn’t proven to be true of false.
The brutal war had ended, leaving the gang now known as ‘Slump City Piru’ due to the mass amount of homicides in the area. Pierre Gilles saw this as a brand new horizon and after helping Gatlin with the war, he seen opportunity to expand as a sub-set of Top-6 in the Los Santos district. Several affiliates of known Top-6 sets scattered among West Palm Beach were seen arriving in Ganton on a weekly basis, which was when Los Santos & Palm Beach's gang units knew something big was going down, within just a matter of months it was known Top-6 had plans on expanding and it appeared to be to late to stop it.
“The gangs in the area quickly realized that Top-6 were not here to play. They were here for good, and a huge & extremely dangerous force to be reckoned with. ”
- Derek Gillingham, SASD.
Gatlin and associates, who once represented themselves as Piru gangsters had dropped all affiliations to represent nothing but Top-6 as they noticed Pierre & his men swarming and dominating the area. It is known that a lot of the members continued to toy with the Piru colours, keeping their affiliations with Piru, though answering to Top-6.
“'Cause Palm Beach is in the makin', no doubt this Haitian, that top spot is mine for the takin'!”
Slump City had become another sub-set of Top-6, and this is why it is no surprise that it wasn’t long before members of the Los Santos Police Department began to fall to their deaths.
In Palm Beach it was a fact among the city that Top-6 and their sub-sets where ruthless, grimy and violent. Officers would dabble with death if they confronted members, which often in the city lead to the death of police officers.
“Hundreds strong, their firepower has outgunned police.”
- Gangland.
“It was literally the wild-west, they didn’t care who got killed, as long as they got their own way they didn’t care. Even if this meant police officers and members of the law, they did whatever they could to get their own way.”
- Benjamin D’Amico, Palm Beach County, Sherriff’s Department.
“They had no fear, I don’t know if that’s from the Haitian mentality, they have no fear of the police, no fear of dying.”
- SGT. Jim Eddy, Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office.
This was something that was transferred, this mentality was one that is common within the newly found members in Ganton, and they don’t fear anyone or anything, their Haitian swagger strikes fear into the hearts of the civilians and the police. It’s no surprise that before long there was a threat of a District Warrant placed on the area of Ganton for the ruthless murders of Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs), this meant that any houses, vehicles and persons could be searched without a reason from the LSPD and SASD. Police also attempted to lower the violent streak of Slump City by basing more patrols in the area, however this only worked for a short amount of time.
“It’s been so hard to combat them, because nobody admits to their membership. Where the Bloods and the Crips are proud of who they are, Slump City are more grimy and organized, though through there brutality, you'd think the opposite.”
- Peter Lomas, LSPD.
Tension in Ganton was on the rise, the wars between Slump City and it's rivals was at an all-time high, which led to a vast increase in numbers from both the LSPD and the GND. Furthermore, what use to be small-time gangs in Ganton; was now seen to be a growing threat by Slump City's OG's turned into yet another gang-related affair. Ganton Circle became a strict no entry zone for not only outsiders, but also the Law Enforcement. It was no secret that on several occasions SWAT units were called into the neighborhood to resolve on-going shootings where Slump City affiliates had opened fire on passing by Law Enforcement Officers. This was the main cause for the major PD crack-down on Slump City, leading to the development of yet another casefile. Around about this time, Ganton had the highest statistic for criminal activity including; robbery, battery, vandalism, distribution of narcotics, distribution of firearms, multiple kidnappings and murder. Due to what had happened in the past, the Los Santos Police Department continuously held raids on the neighborhood which was a major key factor in the gangs downfall as hundreds of affiliates were being jailed, or even killed in on-going shootings with the Law Enforcement.
Around this time, it was rumored that multiple street gangs who were at war with Slump City had held meetings and banded together as a mass to go against them together. The pressure of the multiple rivals coming together and the Law Enforcement's on-going casefile was too much for the street gang. Slump City was forced into a position where either everyone was to be killed or locked away serving life sentences in maximum security prisons scattered across the states, for this reason multiple Slump City original gangsters who had managed to survive fled back to Palm Beach County, Florida and operated out of Los Santos with there Top-6 brothers until the heat had completely died down. On the 19th of November, 2013 several of the Slump City / Top-6 figures had gathered to plan and re-organize what was once a dominant street-gang in Los Santos, it's now rumored the gang is currently operating around the infamous Harmony Oaks Projects.

TOP-6 is known for it's ruthless and violent reputation and we have maintained the same hostile behavior in Los Santos Roleplay as well. Indeed, this faction is led by some Haitian characters however it is not necessary for everyone to roleplay as a Haitian to join this faction.
The members of this gang can be seen wearing green, red, blue, black, all types of bandanas. But their are no intentions to show their affiliations with the usage of bandanas, but their tattoos and clothing. Slump City is an alternative name of an area of West Palm Beach, Florida, where TOP-6 controls in real life. It was given the name Slump City due to the ruthless and violent personality of the associates of TOP-6, and due to the large amount of shootouts and murders took place there. Due to members of the faction being from the original Slump City in-game, the name was brought over to Los Santos as well as them having the same ruthless mentality.
