Security Issues:

Post by Damian » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:37 pm

Passwords are highly important when it comes to making and managing an account. In most instances it should be changed every month. Not only that it should be at most/least 10 characters long containing caps, non-caps, and numbers. Your main email account should be the hardest to figure out, because it will control it all. This is all done to ensure the highest protection as possible.

Every account you have should have a different pass because there are certain cases where communities fail at security and have all their information released, and to make things worse they don't hash the passwords making your secure password pointless. But with each pass being different you will still be in the clear to fix it all. Most companies are held to legal standards in hashing passwords, while many free organizations have the option whether or not to do it.

At LS-RP we promise every password you have on this server is secured, even from the management team. Now that promise can not be applied to all servers on SA:MP.

In order to avoid future issues here on LS-RP or on the internet in general:

  • Each account you have on the internet should be different and equivalent in difficulty. At most/least:10 characters(Caps, Non-Caps, Numbers).
  • Your email should be the absolute hardest to guess- it is your main account online. At most/least:15 characters(Caps, Non-Caps, Numbers).
  • Passwords should be changed every month.

It's also advised not to share your pass with any of your friends. Your account, your stuff. Their account, their stuff -- and it's not hard to keep on track of a multiple set of passwords.

I support everything you've just mentioned above. I extremely suggest for those who haven't changed their passwords yet, go on and do this as soon as possible.
We'll be coming back for you one day

LS-RP Staff will NEVER ask for your password, giving it out to ANYONE will most likely get your account breached and banned.
