SACF, Bone County — At approximately 22:40 p.m. on July 2, staff became aware of two Correctional Officers being severely injured by an inmate with an improvised knife in the general population yard. Within moments of the incident being reported, a senior officer responded with a lethal weapon, putting an end to the brutal attempt to murder two correctional officers. The inmate in question was able to stab the two correction officers multiple times in the upper body near their biceps and shoulders. A group of inmates tried to stop the senior officer from providing medical assistance to the injured officers. The non-compliant inmates were subdued quickly to prevent another possible attack on staff.
The two correction officers were transported to Fort Carson Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries and were kept for a few days stay for an observation period. The San Andreas Department of Corrections would like to extend their thanks to the Los Santos Fire Department for their speedy response and treatment of the downed individuals inside of our facility alongside our Medical Services Unit. Both of the individuals involved in the attack are expected to make a full recovery and return to full duty as soon as they recover thanks to the quick treatment of their injuries by our Medical Services Unit.
