How can I activate my second videocard for SAMP?

Post by RyanWade » Thu Oct 19, 2017 9:15 pm

Hey,

I've got a problem.
My game lags when I have a modded GTA:SA, while I have 2x GeForce GT650M.
I found out later that I play on 1 of my videocards.
I wonder how I can activate my second videocard for GTA:SA.

Thanks in advance.

Specs:
Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40 GHz
RAM 16GB
64-bit Operating system, x64-based processor

Have you tried using an SLI bridge to link the two together?

SAMP's an old ass game, I highly doubt SLI will work for it considering the majority of new games can't even handle it efficiently.

SAMP being an old game doesn't have anything to do with it.
OP -
Go to NVIDIA Control Panel, Configure SLI, Surround, Physx on the left (https://imgur.com/a/msAJi.), go to maximize 3D performance from there, then to Manage 3D Settings, Program Settings and choose GTA San Andreas. (https://m.imgur.com/a/GptfW.)
Try the alternate frame rendering 1 and 2.

If it doesn't work, download NVIDIA Inspector and follow this tutorial:

If it still doesn't work, feel free to quote me.

Both didn't work.
It still runs slow with a medium ENB.
What can I do?

Your video cards are quite outdated and I doubt that GTA:SA even supports SLI.

Your best bet is to remove the ENB altogether and play without it.

Then it probably used the 2 cards, but the performance was still bad.
Use MSI Afterburner to check if both cards are being utilized. It shows GPU usage of each card in %. Let me know and we'll continue from there.

I've overclocked and now it works fucking good with the ENB.
