Best Rock Singer

Post by Placid94 » Sun Dec 25, 2011 10:46 pm

So who do you think is the greatest ever rock or heavy metal singer?

In my opinion, Corey Taylor (Slipknot and Stone Sour) is the greatest singer of our generation, so diverse and powerful.. plus that fucking neck

Well, I don't like 'our generation' that much, but I would say, in my opinion, best rock singer is Jim Morrison, although I don't like some of those very deep notes he takes sometimes, but I fricking love his voice.

Robert Plant - Led Zeppelin.
Axl Rose, his vocal range is insane.

I think axl doesn't have that special of a voice, it's just a scratchy falsetto really (even though I love GN'R that's my opinion). His voice has really lost that huskiness as well recently so yah..

Also, if you don't like this generation of singers you haven't searched enough, there are loads of talented rock singers around today!

Jared Leto, 30 seconds to mars.

About the first band I've been listening to, and I still keep listening to because I love it. Awesome voice.
I, Jeronix, will join the probation group in order to serve my debt to Los Santos Role Play. I choose to follow the rules inside of the group as followed. I am fully aware that the tasks involved can change and or even expand as the leads see fit. I will agree to a ban if I can not fulfill the groups purpose!

Placid! What do you think about Dio and James Hetfield? Dio has always been amazing all the way untik his death. I personally think that James was amazing in the 80's and early 90's, but started to lose his voice.

My favorite and overall best rock singer at the moment is Sublime's Bradley Nowell. And don't forget about the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Misfits, and the Ramones.

I couldn't say who's the best, but my favorite is Andrew WK.

In my head, Layne Staley was [and will always be] the best rock / metal singer ever. His voice was amazing, and his message was out of this world, but it still managed to get inside your heart and eat at your brain until you felt this man's words.

- Freddie Mercury
- Mick Jagger
- Corey Taylor
- Klaus Meine
- James Hetfield

Best of them? I can't tell. Freddie had the highest tone within his voice and nobody could match him. He's dead though. Mick is just amazing, he's a king on stage with great charisma, amazing voice as well. Corey Taylor is sick as hell, singing in the sickest band with the toughest voice ever, he's crazy. But he can change his voice and he's carrying so much talent. I love when he sings ballads.

And where shall I begin with that german dude Klaus. Just listen to this, probably the loveliest (no homo) voice ever, I get the creeps when I hear this.

And Hetfield, amazing as well. He has lost some of his capacity but he's still great on the stage, and his voice. Also very good at changing his voice, from mean-bad-ass songs all the way to ballads. Just like Corey.

The best of them was probably Freddie. I can't decide between the others, but they're all my favorites at least.
