Taifun wrote:What? The only two songs from that album that Mustaine helped at was Ride the Lightning and Call of Ktulu. Dave had nothing to do with For Whom The Bell Tols. It was mostly Cliff's idea. Check this video out, you'll find something very similar. It was Cliff's first band. Listen to the bass.

There's one song you're forgetting there.

I've been a huge fan of Metallica for a large portion of my life, I've got a couple of songs from every album along with some full albums in my iTunes, favourite song has to be Fuel!

I don't like Metallica really much because of the shit between Hetfield and Layne Staley from Alice in Chains, and AIC is one of my favorite bands.

Also, something really terrible.

Am I the only one who enjoy their very oldest stuff? When they were more proggish and Lars actually 'could' play the drums? Not to mention the vocals was a lot better back then.

It always makes me laugh to hear people really prefer the early stuff... The stuff that was written by Mustaine.

Mustaine was a good songwriter though? But I mean anything from there, to Master of Puppets, and a few years into the 90s.

I know that, I'm a big fan of Megadeth (maybe you've seen my previous avatar and sig?)

I mean the people that actively participate in the Metallica vs. Megadeth fight while saying Metallica's early stuff was their best.

I'm not like that though, so don't worry. I like both bands, with finding both of their earlier stuff being the better. x) Same with Iron Maiden. I guess I'm just out of fashion...

Naah, I can totally see that. Both (or all) bands have aged quite a bit and definitely aren't the same as they once were.

'One' gives me goosegumps, I watched the movie that they based the song on and I've got to say that it's one of the most scary movies I've ever watched. The whole idea of being stuck inside of your body without knowing if you're dead or alive creeps me out.

Even as recent as a few years ago, when I saw them twice in 2 years, I'd've said they were a good live band. I just watched a 2014 performance of Seek and Destroy on YouTube, however, and they're really showing their age now. Lars has basically given up on the hope of double-bass, James' voice is peculiarly travelling backwards in development to resemble one of the backing vocalists in N-Sync, and Kirk's solos are sloppier than a morning-after-drinking shitting session.

Rob's still a fucking badass though. What a bassist.
