Department of Justice wrote:Updated to reflect recent history, fixed some grammar, fixed some inaccuracies in nomenclature (i.e. referring to the SADOJ as the DOJ - we are not the USDOJ!), updated all the necessary links, and added our faction's new features.

We can also now be found at http://www.lsgov.us, thank you to CITY for sharing your forum with us!

Changes made by Sophie Thyne (Arkady Krushenko) with input and ideas from Ashton Winger (RyanW) and Chris Feller (Skypo).

YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AS A CITIZEN

Release Date: 31/JAN/2017
Written by Sophie Thyne, Juliette Naviaux
Community Affairs Release #JPR-01

Through statistics collected by the Office of the Attorney General over the past few months, it has become clear to the Justice Department that citizens don't know their legal rights as private citizens, and usually end up incriminating themselves, waiving some right they didn't know existed, or simply doing whatever they're told. The San Andreas Department of Justice would like to take this opportunity to inform the citizens of San Andreas of their rights, and what the government is (not) allowed to do!

Here are a few things that we ca... [Read more...]

INTRODUCTION

#01

WRITTEN BY DAVID NADEAU, J.D.
FORMER DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL AND DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF LOS SANTOS

The following compilation of essays are written by David Nadeau, J.D., and James Holding, J.D. David Nadeau was the former District Attorney of Los Santos and Deputy Attorney General of Administration within the Department of Justice. During his time, he oversaw many acts of corruption within the Department of Justice spearheaded by incompetent leadership, among many other issues. David Nadeau paired with James Holding in order to write a series of essays aiming to bring an uprising within the people of the state of San Andreas in order to encourage much-needed change within the great state.
Throughout the extended publication, we will explore many issues presented to not only the Department of Justice and Attorney General Darnell Murphy, but also the courts of San Andreas, the state government, and the city government of Los Santos. We encourage the citizens of San Andreas to stand up against the evil that lies within your lawbreaking law enforcers.

CORRUPTION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

#02

WRITTEN BY DAVID NADEAU, J.D.
FORMER DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL AND DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF LOS SANTOS

The following essay is aimed to explore the corruption that is running rampant within the Department of Justice, with the guilt lying due to incompetent training and leadership. Within this essay, we will divulge into several members of the Deparment of Justice who committed crimes including multiple homicides and terrorism. The public should have been made aware of these wrongdoings; however, instead it was swept under the rug by the Attorney General's Office.
We will begin by taking a look at former Chief Investigator David Garrison. David Garrison was the former Chief Investigator of the Office of Justice Programs, now called Office of State Investigations. The corruption within the Office of State Investigations began with her father, the now-deceased Garrison. Former District Attorney David Nadeau successfully prosecuted David Garrison, bringing justice to the people of the State of San Andreas. Why was justice needed? David Garrison was a former police officer. During this time, he committed many murders and covered up these hideous crimes. Furthermore, David Garrison was declared mentally insane by the Los Santos Fire Department. Why was an insane man put in a position of leadership within the Department of Justice? Why was David Garrison given access to free gun licenses? These questions should all be directed to the current Attorney General Darnell Murphy.
Continuing with the corruption of the Office of State Investigations, formerly lead by now-Deputy Attorney General Sophie Thyne and now Director Ashton Winger, the office is often known for misuse of the government firearm's license, which is provided to any and all state investigators. However, why would this be needed? State investigators are not law enforcement; however, it is clear that many of them believe they are. There is no reason for this license to be issued when state investigators should not be getting caught in crossfire. Instead, we end up with investigators such as Jane Hale, arrested while on duty, or even interns such as Jessica Rodchester, who were arrested for evading from a police officer using a Department of Justice vehicle. Such crimes are unacceptable, which is why David Nadeau had to authorize many arrests on Department of Justice personnel, including Jessica Rodchester, while acting as the Deputy Attorney General.
More crimes have been committed by Department of Justice personnel, but the most controversial of the offices within the SADOJ is the Department of Special Services. Run by the incompetent leadership of Chris Feller and Daniel Spencer, David Nadeau has personally authorized numerous arrests of state security officers. The Department of Special Services is known for abusing their government firearms licenses and attempting to act in a law enforcement capacity. Not only have numerous protective agents been arrested, such as the most recent Protective Agent Charlie Hamilton, but at a rate of at least once per week protective agents are getting into altercations with law enforcement officers due to misuse of their firearms or other issues. For example, former State Security Officer Chandler Hunt was arrested for chasing a deputy's cruiser down and performing a precision immobilization technique on said deputy's cruiser while the deputy had his lights and sirens on, responding to a pursuit. The actions of the state security officer are covered in the manual of the Department of Special Services and Hunt was nearly reinstated after the leadership of the Department of Special Services fought over David Nadeau's decision to authorize an arrest.
These are a few of the issues of known corruption within the Department of Justice over the past few months, something that leadership has failed to fix over a long period of time. Attorney General Darnell Murphy has failed to make any positive difference, instead introducing the Department of Special Services and with it a severe issue in malfeasance.

Exploration into the District Attorney's Office

EXPLORATION INTO
THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE

#03

WRITTEN BY DAVID NADEAU, J.D.
FORMER DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL AND DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF LOS SANTOS

Under David Nadeau's time serving as the District Attorney of Los Santos, the office was met with unprecedented success and activity. While the Public Defender's Office, overseen by Deputy Attorney General Sophie Thyne, is struggling to stay afloat with zero incoming cases over the past few months and only one attorney, the District Attorney's Office was lead and supervising by competent leadership and had many successful convictions and defenses of state agencies. However, the resignation of David Nadeau leads the spot of District Attorney to be vacant.
The question many will ask is who will replace the old District Attorney. Attorney General Darnell Murphy decided to have the office temporarily headed by Deputy Attorney General Sophie Thyne. While many may see this as the logical thing to do, we will prove that is quite the opposite. To begin, Sophie Thyne has never seen a case in court. While many may believe this doesn't make sense, it does when you learn that Sophie Thyne failed the bar examination twice before being added to the state bar due to her inability to pass the exam by Attorney General Darnell Murphy. Should someone who cannot even pass the bar exam be the Chief Prosecutor in the great state of San Andreas? This decision by the Attorney General not only proves the incompetence of the Attorney General's Office, but the Department of Justice as a whole.
With that in mind, it is important to note that the Department of Justice has been releasing a series of documents regarding the rights of the people and other legal advice. While it may seem good on paper, it is important to note that Sophie Thyne is overseeing and spearheading these articles, with a majority being written by herself. Would you follow the legal advice of someone who cannot even pass the bar exam, which is an exam that attorneys are prepared for four years to pass in law school? Thyne is simply a state investigator who was appointed to the position of Deputy Attorney General and given membership in the state bar by necessity, not someone who should be giving legal advice nor attempting to prosecute criminals on behalf of the state of San Andreas.
