Business Rules

Post by LS-RP » Tue Mar 31, 2015 5:56 am

1. Activity
  • Properties such as (strip) clubs, bars, betting shops and restaurants are required to open at least twice during a 1 week period. The business must actively inform players that it's open and available. (/ad or /cad)

The rest of the businesses will need to be open at all times and hopefully consecutively as well. This rule is not limited to, but goes for the following: gas stations, 24/7 stores, clothing stores, fast food restaurants and any other alternative businesses such as barbershops and tattoo parlors. You will not be required to inform players of the establishments being open and available.

Leased businesses will have to follow the activity rules listed above, however, they will be watched with a more strict policy due to them being leased. More information about the leasing system can be found here.

It's recommended that screenshots from business openings are taken every now and then for reference, in case you are contacted by Property Management regarding your property's activity.
2. Absence
  • Whilst we understand that most of the time absence from the game is unavoidable and out of anyone's control, we have a set of rules which must be followed if you wish to keep a business whilst you have to leave the game or server for anything over a 1 week period. If no absence is noted then the business will be removed and taken from you — no refund of money or businesses will be given. If you are going to be inactive for an extended period of time, it is highly recommended that you have it transferred to a trustworthy individual who can 'manage' it for you during your period of inactivity.
    • Normal Members: Businesses will be removed after 7 days (1 week) of inactivity.
    • Premium Members: Businesses will be removed after 14 days (2 weeks) of inactivity.
    • Banned Members: Businesses will be removed after the ban is issued.
(If the ban is for ban evading and turns out to be incorrect, the business can be returned)
Logging in once in a while to avoid your business being admin-sold is a direct breach of the rules and will result in a punishment being given to you along with the business being removed. No refunds are given.
Please contact the Head of Properties directly via a forum PM if you wish to discuss your situation and get your inactivity period extended temporary. Contact information can be found at the bottom of this page.
3. Blackjack and Raffling
  • Casinos are the only legal places allowed to do unlimited blackjack bets and any form of raffling. This also means they can make use of the /ad and /cad system to advertise. Casinos need to obtain a gambling license from the Los Santos Government though — more information about that can be found here.

Registered betting shops are allowed to conduct a vehicle raffle of one vehicle which must be kept outside the interior at all times. They may host blackjack legally, although the limit for this is going to be set to a maximum of $1,000,000. Anything over this amount would be classed as a breach of the gambling license.

All other businesses can not gamble legally within their premises or advertise any type of blackjack/raffling. Illegal gambling is allowed to happen in businesses, although if caught by LSPD or SASD, they will be shut down and sold away. No refunds can or will be given. Criminal charges may also be put up.

All businesses, other than casinos, can't host or hold car raffling and money raffling legally. This means they can't make use of the /ad and /cad system to advertise gambling, as this is a legal system. The only exception to this are clubs and bars — they may hold a raffle for up to $10,000 maximum legally, anything above that limit would be classed as illegal and if caught by LSPD or SASD, you will have the business shut down and taken from you. Again, no refunds will be given. Criminal charges may also be put up.
4. Casino Information
  • Casinos have to be requested for ownership. There's also a certain set of requirements before you can apply to run a casino, per the discretion of the acting Head of Properties.
5. Club Information
  • Clubs in Los Santos Roleplay deal with a high demand of roleplay, since they draw a lot of players to them. They must be used for server-wide interaction, meaning they must be opened actively and not solely be used for faction purposes. These businesses may very well be faction-owned businesses, but they still have to abide by this. Event planning for clubs would be something we advise you look into. Clubs often fall inactive due to owners not knowing the correct means to keep them active. If this is the case, ask yourself if you'd be better off trying with another business and giving people who are more creative a chance at owning a club.
6. Faction Businesses
  • Faction businesses are businesses that official factions can declare as theirs. Each official faction may declare a maximum of 2 as such. Until an official faction leader forwards their declaration to the Head of Properties, a business will be treated as a normal one and will be admin-sold as any other business would if its owner goes inactive. A faction business will be held for a maximum of 3 weeks under an inactive owner. This means that the owner has 3 weeks to log in-game before the business is admin-sold. No refunds are given. If the owner is going inactive or plans to, the business should be given to someone else.
7. Contacting Property Management
  • For inquiries or/and other concerns, you can contact the Head of Properties.
8. Furnishing your business
  • If you choose to furnish your business, the produced interior must fit the business' type - e.g. a 24/7 can't be designed to look like a club and similar. Businesses found in violation of this rule will have their furniture removed, in repetitive cases /furniture may be individually disabled.
