  • The ELM was removed because it was inefficient towards server's resources. The modification sends a lot of updates to the server over short period of time which are then later synced with everyone that's near. As you know we're working on expanding our slots for the summer and this was a sacrifice we had to give up.

  • The recent update doesn't simulate what ELM did, it's not a replacement but rather a compensation; something new to work with. Although removing ELM was planned for a long while, we didn't want to do it without implementing something in return.

Thank you for understanding.

We gotta' work with the compensation which would be nice if we could actually use but but we can't.

Here's what I think.

The /siren needs to be moved back to the dashboard. It's extremely unrealistic for a siren to be on the top of the car. I feel like I have to now RP placing it up there. Someone could simply ask /do Would I see a police light on your roof?
I'm kind of forced to RP it there.
If the siren is on the top scriptwise I would have to say yes, blowing my cover.

Second thing with the light in the rear. Why not add /siren2 back there? Serves the same purpose. What I would ask is that /siren2 is invisible when not activated like /siren. It looks REALLY bad just sitting back there and it's huge.

As Deputy Small said, I think the siren position looks stupid and it needs to be moved, this is needed.. It is almost as if the siren is like those detective cars in the movies.

Yeh, pretty much this. The dashlight looked awesome and now we've got some horrible looking thing on the roof. Really needs changing back imo.

I feel like this has been gathering dust.

Many of the new PD/SD members do not know about the old siren position so I think it's crucial that the people who have been joining PD/SD in the last year think if they'd like to see the return of the old position for the light object, if not allowing us to move it (meaning we can keep the current position and have an alternative which is on the front dash).

I still think it should return, putting the light object on top of our cars seems like something you'd have seen 50 years ago but not today.

I never really liked the /siren on the roof mainly because of the actual object itself and the way it interacts with everything around it, Just looks super dinky and unrealistic, I support the addition or revamp of bring back the "original" /siren position.

Why not make system /code2 /code2off or /code3 to make serversided ELM it's possible as far as I'm concerned.

Because emulating ELM on the server side is even more inefficient than simply syncing it client side (ie. ELM mod).
It may be possible, but it would be more inefficient than ELM itself.

I support moving the siren back to where it was before as it just looks stupid when it is on the roof.

Why are we arguing about ELM now? Just bring back the old /siren position. This has been here for over a year, and no one has looked at it. The old siren position was so much nicer and professional.

Bringing back the old siren would be better, it just looks nicer in front and from my point of view, a siren in the back of the car looks kinda strange and out of place.

A year later and still supporting the change.

It's dumb when you think about it.

On a Huntley the siren is on the roof. Is a Detective suppose to RP pulling out his siren from the center console and place it on the roof? IRL they do have one bulb sirens and they are powered by the lighter slot in most cars. Then you just place it on the dashboard, press a button and you have your lights. Now a days they have tiny lights that can be hidden just about anywhere but that's besides the point.

It's unrealistic if you ask me where the current positions are.

Another RP server uses that object and is completely flawed and broken as it does not display any clear lights at all other than the animations of the boxes moving sides unlike what we got as /siren now.

I also suggest moving this or implementing script where we can position these objects ourselves. This is available on other servers so why not implement it in ours, are we the best or not?
