Hey everyone,
On the faction management front, I would like to highlight something Apophis said recently in respect to official factions:
Faction Management will continue to assess existing unofficial factions for potential official status, and the timeline will no longer be unnecessarily extensive (1 year+ before being considered for official, etc). This is to clear up any confusion as factions gain official status.Apophis wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 4:37 amWith (not so!) recent changes to how Faction Management deals with processing official applications and moving factions into official status, you will begin to see more factions being moved out sooner than they would in the past. This is in the spirit of creating a healthier faction scene than we've seen in the past, with faction's being held to higher standards of quality in both the short and the long term. We want to make sure that faction's get official while they're healthy, and remain healthy while they're official.
I will be reviewing the Legal Faction Rules in the coming weeks — particularly the one revolving around assault rifles. The plan was to always reduce the heavy restrictions put in place on ARs after the right mentality was set when I brought in those rules, and I believe both factions are in a better place now and that very "restrictive" rule can be reviewed. It will most definitely not be reverted to being completely unrestricted, though. It's about finding the right balance between realism, immersion and preventing overuse because of the nature of the game.
It has also almost been an entire year since I held the LS-RP Survey of 2016. I am planning to hold another one before the end of the year so community feedback can be assessed. As I've said before, it's a way for staff leadership to keep their ear to the ground on the general community's opinions and the feedback can be used to make improvements or focus our attention on particular issues. I'll announce that separately when it is time to hold the survey. It's a lot of work to sift through responses, but I believe that it's worth it in the long run.
My door is always open for any queries and I respond to any and all sensible private messages that I receive on these boards. I cannot, however, answer questions or speak for anything on the development front as that is solely our Head of Development Mmartin's area.
