The Attorney General's Office dismantled a gang dedicated to the violent robberies, vehicles & trafficking through the metropolitan area of Guadalajara. The alleged members are an off-shoot cell of the notorious Los Aliados, an armed paramilitary wing dedicated to trafficking and protecting lucrative routes for the Jalisco Cartel. The Attorney General confirmed that Los Aliados are the direct link to the Jalisco cells in the United States, it is understood that they are working alongside their US counterparts to shutdown US bound operations, along with apprehending cells directly linked to the Jalisco Cartel in the US. The criminal group is linked to a high ranking member known as El Chuky, a known trafficker that has control of Federal Highway 15, that leads directly to the Mexican-United States border.
The gang was led by Gustavo Lorenzo, alias "El Vador", he was arrested alongside Esteban "El Pequeño" Rodriguez, both of whom were wanted in connection to a string of murders in the western metropolitan area of Guadalajara. Upon arrest Mexican Federal police found two semi-automatic pistols and a AR15 stashed away in the trunk of the SUV the duo were travelling in. The investigation was sparked after three members of the gang were arrested at the border crossing in Nogales, Sonora. The trio were travelling in a stolen red SUV packed with firearms and narcotics in the hopes of reaching the United States. The three were charged with intent to supply and possession of illegal firearms, the driver Mariana Rivera, 23 was also charged with motor vehicle theft.
With these actions, the Attorney General's Office reaffirms their commitment to Operation Jalisco to rid Jalisco of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in the states of Guerrero and Jalisco.
