  • Introduction
Together, as citizens of the endeared Los Santos, we, over again, are put into the wilderness of a new thirty-day-period, a month. A month we deem an opportionity to become better in whatever field you may wish, your job, school, college, and most importantly, your one and only, family. The Government of Los Santos CITY wishes that all of your previous failures turn into success this month.

  • Mayoral Statement
    Image
The previous month had been a road with no clear path for the city government, as a heated election cycle took place throughout it. But, the elections are now behind us and the newly elected Administration, along with myself; Mayor Frank Underhill - are ready to use the torch which was given to us to light up that same road I mentioned earlier.

In the upcoming weeks, plenty of changes will occur in the city government, from the personnel structure to changes within the Departments. We have already begun our work by refreshing information such as the employees' database and promotions of employees that will help us re-build the city government.

A new chapter of greatness is beginning, a new pride shall sweep our streets, optimism surges in both the city employees and the citizens of our city - dreams will become true. Let us together accomplish achievements that will put our city ahead, let us embrace this new spirit of change and get stronger as a society.

Believe in yourself for you are the government.

BUREAU OF LICENSING

  • Image
As a highly-motivated and successful results orientated director of the department of licensing, I have a proven track record of providing exemplary levels of service to a broad range of updates, including business fees and aviation. As current director, with a several month experience in licensing, I have undertaken many measures in order to have the department run efficient and work with the most productive tempo it can. These updates have enabled me to develop not only the department, but also provide valuable services to the city of Los Santos.

During updates with businesses, further discussions with the Mayor took place in order to lower the existing percentage of fees to half, not only that but also the removal of marriage license fee, because we believe that no economic ties should be formed upon the marriage between two people. Throughout the month of April and as of the first of May, our database consists of sixty-six licensed, ninety one registered and one state leased business. Recently, our main aim was also to update the database with all the expired and valid registrations and we remarkably achieved that. Our aim as of now is to hire more individuals for the department of licensing, hence the recruitment was open so the citizens can apply and have a great role in helping the city grow by taking part in registering the city businesses, aviation, state land leasing, and marriage. We gladly have seven applicants of the meantime who we wish good luck in order to be a part of the department.

Finally, we would like to thank the Government for letting us run the department in full speed and of course we would like to thank and encourage the young entrepreneurs of Los Santos to continue their cooperation with us, letting them grow and develop the business environment of Los Santos.

Alexandria Rosalyn Lovell-Ponaro was born on August 23, 1995, in the beautiful town of Aurora, Colorado. During her early childhood years, Alexandria began to express a strong interest for Art, and grew into the title of a "child prodigy" by showcasing her advanced talents in artworks she had created. By the age of eighteen, Alexandria was looked upon by her fellow classmates and encouraged by her art teacher/mentor, Ms. Patterson, to push for her artwork to be widely recognized. Taking the advice, Alexandria admitted herself into various art contests and shows, which in turn earned her a lot of scholarships and profound attention as an up-and-coming artist in her home state.

After graduating from high school, Alexandria moved to Los Santos, San Andreas due to family reasons and a desire of wanting to continue her education. She built up a small business called "Lovell Art/Photography" but encountered financial issues, so she took up a job as a full-time columnist for LIFE Magazine®, where she reported on daily news and the latest trends in beauty & fashion. Her new employment gave her a different perspective on the lives of many people; including those who suffered in poverty. This, along with her past, greatly influenced Alexandria to leave her magazine job for a position in the city government as a Welfare Official. Within just two months, she was appointed as the Director of Welfare by former Mayor Valentina Richardson, and ensured the smoothness and availability of the department's programs for six months.

Currently, Alexandria serves as the Head of the Office of Administration, overseeing the progress of Licensing & continuing her involvement in Welfare. She enjoys her new position and believes that helping others is her new passion. However, she would like to turn Art into a side-career one day.

Some personal hobbies of Alexandria's include painting/drawing, scrap-booking, baking, and makeup. She has been married to Jack Ponaro for two years now, and both are loving parents to a small, grey cat named Smokey.

This puts a stop to our monthly newsletter, I do hope that every single citizen was properly updated by what's running through the vessels of our government. I hope that, this month in particular, everyone manages to build up quality time with their loved ones, and again, make all previous failures into a strenghtened success. Have a good month Los Santos.

Los Santos City Government - Office of the Mayor

May 4th, 2017

We are happy to announce the removal of the tax which was paid to the City Government in order for two individuals to marry. It is within the government's belief that two lovers shall not be forced to pay a large sum of money simply because they wish for their country to bond them together via paper.
Marriage is a wonderful thing, it is emotional and the beginning of a new path for two lovers who decided to take a step forward; it is not for the government to place barriers to prevent such occasions from happening.

Although the fee was removed, it is still necessary to submit a "Marriage Registration" form which lets the government acknowledge the marriage.
  • Respectfully Submitted,

Implying I go around in-game trying to pretend to be Kevin Spacey's character, it's just a name - get over it.
Could've named myself Donald Reagan, it would've still been legit.

But to answer your question - I guess not Mr. Toxic guy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BARRICADED SUSPECT IS ARRESTED
JA#006 - 05/05/2017

Image
Today, the Los Santos Police Department carried a successful raid on a residence in Idlewood as parts of their efforts to reduce the crime rate of the city. A barricaded suspect was the source of the issue, suspect who was successfully arrested during the operation, which was carried through with no pertinent damage reported.
Image
This has been a busy day for both of our police departments, with their efforts to reduce the rates of criminality in the city giving clear results. The training of the officers was proved to the citizens as they carried out a high-risk raid on a residence in Idlewood. Little chaos sprouted from the operation and there were no major reported injuries that day. Proper procedures were evidenced as officers with high-caliber weapons were aided by riot-equipped officers. After a countdown to three, the officers entered the residence and, minutes later, returned victorious.
Image
While not much more information can be shared regarding this specific case nor the identity of the suspect, it is a clear indication of the good efforts our government are doing to improve the quality of our streets, day by day, week by week.

ALHAMBRA, WHAT'S NEXT?
JA#007 - 5/5/2017

SPACER
Image

Alhambra, coming from the Spanish Alhambra of Granada, a monumental Arab style palace-fortress complex built in the 14th century, a finalist to be named one of the New Seven Wonders of The World in 2007. Created by the same architect who has designed a similar building to Alhambra in Los Angeles known as Los Angeles Herald Examiner Building. Alhambra has been going through several ownerships with different types of schedules and ways. The last active Alhambra was a creator of opportunities for people to become one of the employees or one of the participators as customers to kill their time in during the opening.
Alhambra has been passed through various and variable owners, each, surprisingly, from a different ethnicity, boldest titles being;
- Loay Lorenzo.
- Alexis Vasquez.
- Ciro Ferrucci.
However, the club, for some reason, had an instant shutdown, such a shutdown came from no apparent or obvious reason, the club was making a profit and just, simply, ran out of business.
It was then, after several weeks, discovered that the owner of the club; Ciro Ferrucci, has been found dead in the area of the graveyard next to Vincenzo Ferrucci, his late brother.
Alhambra went down on its knees ever since, and the club was never seen open again.
Investors and enthusiasts had hopes of purchasing the property, however, Alhambra is currently stuck at its idle state due to inheriting issues and negotiations.
All aside, the following reviews genuinely express how visitors adore Alhambra;
Marissa Maldini: Alhambra is a paradise for people who want to live their lives fast and fun! Alhambra gives an assortment of fun for everyone! Do you need fun? Go to Alhambra! It’s got food, music, activities for everyone, contests, blackjack, open bar, and the list keeps on spewing out fun! This club gets an 11 out of 10! 11 out of 10?! Yes! It’s that good! Listen or look for ads for this club to open!

Cheri Jones:Alhambra is a nightclub located in western Idlewood, and it is run by the NAX group. This area attracts a variety of classes and thus is a great place to meet new people. Recently, they have replaced the longtime manager of the club with someone new. Did the club live up to the high expectations it set by it's previous openings? Journalist Cheri Jones attended today's recent opening to investigate.

There was a single doorman manning the door, but the line still moved swiftly. Upon getting inside, there were a few more security workers scattered around, although not many. There was one assault during the opening that left a man wounded and unconscious in the DJ booth. Security were unable to stop the fight, nor were they able to restrain the suspect who assaulted the man. The suspect quickly left before being detained.

There were two bartenders, both of which were very friendly. I was offered a menu, which consisted of all your basic alcohol types such as vodka, scotch, and wine. When I ordered a Sex on the Beach (a type of drink which contains vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice and orange juice) the bartender appeared a bit confused, but nevertheless, he rushed to make my drink. The price of the drink? Well, it was on the house because the club gives customers their first drink for free. I am not sure how exactly the bartenders keep track of this, especially during busy openings, but this policy definitely keeps customers happy.

The club was not crowded, and the VIP was practically empty. The emptiness of the VIP could be attributed to the steep entry fee (in comparison to other clubs, which offer VIP for typically around ten grand) of twenty thousand dollars. Only a few people were dancing, and the rest were lounging in the array of couches which are scattered around the club.

There did not appear to be a dress club in place, leading me to believe the club caters to all sorts of clientele, and does not brand itself as an upscale club. One of the patrons arrived dressed as a hippo, but no one minded his choice of dress.

DJ Mexico did a great job of providing unique mixes to the club goers. A couple customers were shouting out abusive comments towards DJ Mexico, causing her to engage in an argument over the mic with them. The security did nothing to stop these men from continuing to shout at the DJ, and it lasted practically the entire opening.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Alhambra. The opening appeared to be very organized. The only unpleasant thing was hearing the insults that were hurled at DJ Mexico, and seeing a bloodied man unconscious on the ground (however, this is not an uncommon sight to see in LS clubs). The location of the club and the demographic/dress of the patrons suggested that it is not geared towards high rollers. Rather, it is geared towards the average citizens of Los Santos who are just looking to unwind.

Abdulhamid Asaad:The absolute biggest club I have ever set my eyes on! Once a big historical site, Alhambra is now a fabulous hangout for people who want a little spice in their lives! Although it does not give as much opportunity as Obsidian, it is still almost as, or equal to the fun that Obsidian hands you! This club gets a 9.5 out of 10!

On that note stated, this brings us to the end of this article, we hope that everyone was updated with Alhambra's current state and near future, we will make sure to inform you about any other changes or updates made in the future.
