Police dismantle prostitution ring operating in Eastside Los Santos
MATTHEW SHECKLER. LOS SANTOS TIMES. FEBRUARY 16, 2016.
The Los Santos Police Department's Gang and Narcotics Division in conjunction with the Los Santos Police Department's Organized Crime and VICE Division have netted 26 arrests and laid well over 250 felony charges against criminals who ran a prostitution network out of several dozen Eastside Los Santos motels and hotels.
These arrests and felony charges come after a year and a half long investigation into organized pimping and prostitution concluded with the raids of 7 motels and 12 private properties in Jefferson, Glen Park and East Los Santos. Within these raids, over 50 prostitutes were discovered to be living in deplorable conditions within squalid motels, hotels, lowrise housing project units and houses. 26 of the purported pimps have since been arrested, detained in remand and formally charged with state felonies that include but are not limited to: abduction, sexual assault, pimping and pandering, possession of illicit narcotics and selling illicit narcotics.
The Los Santos Police Department have laid felony charges against an additional 7 individuals who are alleged to be working as pimps within this prostitution ring. These 7 individuals are believed to be living in hiding within Los Santos, other regions of San Andreas or are thought to have fled the state in its entirety in advance of the raids. As a result, they are currently wanted on state wide arrest warrants in San Andreas. The names of these 7 individuals, as well as their photographs, can be found on the websites of the Los Santos Times, Los Santos Police Department and the Los Santos Crime Stoppers.
All but 3 of the 26 pimps are eligible for bail. Of those eligible for bail, their amount is set at $120,000 USD. All of the pimps involved with the prostitution ring are currently being held in the medium to maximum security facilities of the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Commerce, LS and are currently awaiting trial. The trials are set to begin sometime in 2018. It is expected that, if convicted, any given amount of the pimps may end up serving anywhere between 10 to 35 years behind bars in medium and maximum security state prisons.
The Los Santos Police Department have stated in a public press release on February 10, 2016 that this bust is a part of an unprecedented surge in pimping and prostitution related activites throughout the whole of Eastside Los Santos.
The police are urging the public to contact them if they are aware of any pimping and prostitution related activities within their communities and neighborhoods, regardless of whether they're located in Eastside Los Santos or not.
