No they didn't so I don't know why people keep saying they're coming for next gen consoles. I think it would have been announced by now... pretty unfortunate, though. Would be much better playing this on a PS4, not on a PS3 or on a 360. GTA IV already hag huge FPS drops at certain points.

About the topic though; GTA IV already did a complete turn by taking away all the fun stuff. They already brought some of the fun stuff back in the Luis Lopez DLC, so I'm almost positive they're taking GTA V back to what GTA used to be.

For the people that expects the story to be good, well... don't get your hopes up. I don't think any of the GTA games have had a great story yet. Vice City's was okay but GTA SA for an example, wtf... from a gangbanger to jetpack flying casino owner and all of it was connected to the story too.

The thing is, they have to compete with the latest gaming technology. You wouldn't want them to release GTA V and it still look like GTA III or GTA San Andreas; you'd think it was shit and curse Rockstar. I'm glad the game looks more realistic, the graphics still look like they're from GTA (if that makes sense) and to be honest, I think it'll still feel like it's a GTA mission set.

I'm scared that GTA V is going to be drive, shoot, drive, shoot, drive, shoot, etc, like GTA IV.

As well, I'm scared if GTA IV's clunky movement system is inside GTA V.

Kill me if it is.

I JUST hope they won't turn GTA V into some kind of alternative Saint's Row 3, that game LACKS of realism.

EDIT: GTA IV is very well made people, hands down.

GTA IV is the worst GTA out of all, it's like the only GTA that got me bored right after the story because there was nothing left to do.

I didn't like how GTA IV was based on mass murder, either. I don't like how the series is headed towards a shooter genre when it's an open-world carjacking genre.
GTA IV's protagonist, Niko Bellic, was a murderer and he used to brag about killing lots of people, when infact what the GTA series suggests is that he should've been a car thief.

There should be a lot of missions that involve stealing cars or missions that involve USING cars to complete. I'm thinking GTA III-style. But, sure, from the trailer... it looks way more promising and more GTA-style than any GTA IV trailer has ever been.

They made GTA:IV way too realistic - at least for me.
It's even hard to drive properly when you don't have a high-end video card plus GTA:IV's storyline was kinda odd.
I really hope they'll manage to find the balance between realism and fun/sarcasm/traditional GTA values.

And GTA:SA remains the best GTA ever, regardless of the funny characters or the game engine used.
And yeah... it was pretty hard to drive on GTA:IV, although GTA:SA had a very un-realistic driving system. I hope they'll find a balance between them.

I think the game is perfect to me, GTA doens't need to be always the same, it has to grow and be developed..
Characters Status list:
Spoiler: show
Diego_Dominguez: Dead - Killed in SACF
William_Crawford: Dead - Killed in SACF

They already said in an interview that the gameplay is going to be much more immersive, that they fixed all the mistakes they had made in GTA IV. Specifically because there are 3 characters and you can skip to whichever one whenever you want during a mission which gets rid of the boring "drive, shoot, drive" scenarios.

I don't know why you people are so worried, Rockstar knows what their fans want.
